Lucas Lodge is a licensed private provider offering Residential Services, Supportive Living, Center Based as well as Non-Center Based Day Support Services, and Community Engagement Services.   Lucas Lodge has been licensed in the State of Virginia with the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services for over 20 years for adults with intellectual disabilities. Lucas Lodge is incorporated with the State of Virginia. Individuals for admission must have significant limitations in adaptive skills such as communication, self-care, home living, social skills, community use, self-direction, health and safety, medication management and work.

 

Residential Services

Lucas Lodge is a licensed waiver provider within the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDBS) offering residential as well as the supported living services to individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Lucas Lodge offers waiver based residential programs for adults with intellectual disabilities.  An individual must have significant limitations in adaptive skills that prevent independent living.  Lucas Lodge maintains eight licensed residential homes in the Portsmouth community.  Our programs are based on a value the individual and the right to be treated with dignity and respect.  Our staff are scheduled to provide routine assistance, monitoring and supervision to individuals 24 hours per day.  Lucas Lodge accepts referrals through the local Community Service Boards, Training Centers and private groups.

 

Day Support Services

Lucas Lodge is a licensed Center Based Day Support Program for individuals with intellectual disabilities and IQ below 70.  Individuals are provided opportunities to socialize with their peers in the program and the local community to develop communication, functional, independent and money management skills.  Medication management is also provided for individuals in need of this service.

 

Transportation Services

Lucas Transportation remains insured with a local agency and  is licensed with the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles to provide daily transportation services to individuals residing or participating in our Lucas Lodge licensed programs.  Transportation services is provided to individuals’ various supportive employment, medical appointments, community outings and home visits.  Our drivers are certified in CPR and First Aide.  Wheelchair accessible transportation is available for individuals participating in our licensed programs.
